After a lengthy 25 hour travel schedule including long lay overs and a sick baby, we were blessed to have arrived safely in Cape Town international airport. The beauty of Cape Town is both displayed in God’s creation and the diverse people groups living in and around the city. It is a blessed city to have many Christians calling it home, but also there is a very eye-opening brokeness in the poverty and crime that exist all around us. We know God’s heart for these people is to heal that brokenness through a real life relationship with them.
Our next six months we have partnered with a Christian mission organization called Youth With A Mission (ywammuizenberg.org) located in Muizenburg, South Africa. We have the privilege of helping to train other disciples in knowing God and equipping them to go out and make God known through evangelism, practical service in working with street children, and those disadvantaged suffering in society. Altogether we number a total of 26 students and staff from 12 different nations. We have been blessed to have had Dorien’s mum accompany us over the past few weeks and Samuel has enjoyed spending time with his oma.
Our journey has not been without our own trials as upon arrival we learned that Matt, Ben’s father has been diagnosed with cancer. Amidst this terrible news we have a peace within us about God’s plan for his life, God’s sovereignty, and God’s healing power. Knowing who Matt is and his heart-felt desire to continue to serve God with this diagnoses has left a lasting impact on our family and we hope it will for others as well. We are still convinced that we are in the right place at the right time and we look forward to serving God through loving others here in South Africa!
Please pray for overall health and safety for us.

Just called Ben’s NH cell number to catch up, no answer, so I checked facebook and saw this post! Awesome news guys. Be blessed!
